Assessment

  •     It consists of 12 reference points and is performed in a lying or standing position.
  •     The PECY System provides a quick assessment of muscle, fascial and visceral dysfunction.

Treatment

  •     The PECY treatment method is based on the 12 reference points of the diagnostic system and allows any reference point to be treated if necessary.
  •     It is a manual vaginal treatment method using pressure points, fascial and visceral mobilisations.

Who is qualified to apply the PECY System?

  • Due to vaginal palpation, the PECY System can only be used by doctors, midwives, osteopaths and physiotherapists. Please always check with your local health authority if you have any doubts about your profession.
  • PECY system can be used pre, peri, and postnatal, before and after surgery, but must always be based on a doctor's assessment and prescription.
  • Sanfem encourages all qualified professionals to incorporate the PECY assessment system into their daily practice. 
  • Sanfem has chosen to teach the PECY Treatment method exclusively to female healthcare professionals in order to protect Sanfem's philosophy and purpose.

Interdisciplinary Hybrid Teaching Method

The training consists of a 6-week online course with videos, live meetings, and optional practical training days.

All approved medical professionals (Midwives, Doctors, Physiotherapists) take part in the same online course. Thus, everyone receives the same information and a universal knowledge basis is guaranteed and created. This is the prerequisite for functional communication between the professional groups.

Certification

Upon completion of the online course, 3 patient protocols must be submitted in order for a course attendance certificate to be issued. 

Optional practical learning days can be attended. These enable practical practice and direct exchange with colleagues.
